Last week, the nation celebrated the 75th anniversary of V E Day. The celebrations were not what we had all hoped and planned for however this did not stop us having our very own ( smaller than desired) parties at home to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
It has been so nice to see what Year 6 did to celebrate the occasion as well as the outstanding work that was completed for their Enrichment homework.
Eleanor made a special street party for her Sylvanian family outside Buckingham Palace. She included lots of key facts and information of her family history.
Grace celebrated V E Day with her family. She had a tea party on her drive with her mum and dad and made an excellent flag to display for her party.
Over the Easter holidays, Ellis worked with his sister, Felicity, to create their own piece of V E day homework. They worked together to decide what they were going to do – great team work Ellis and Felicity!
Riley decided to create a presentation all about V E Day. He included details about WW2, what V E day is and why we celebrate it. Riley celebrated by having a socially distant street party with his family and his neighbours. The whole close took part in the 2 minute silence followed by their rendition of the national anthem. They all had their own BBQ’s with war time music being played in the background – a wonderful community atmosphere!
George has been keeping very busy completing his V E Day enrichment homework, showing how creative he is. Well done George this is fabulous.

Stay safe and well Year 6!
